I don’t just photograph families. I help them feel present and together.

WHY I STARTED?

Xin chào!

I’m Anda (pronounced an-da). I grew up in a big, loud, loving Vietnamese family – where my mom’s side alone has ten siblings, and every gathering meant a house full of people, food, and noise that somehow always felt like comfort.

Those days taught me something I didn’t have words for yet: the moments worth keeping aren’t the posed ones. They’re the ones where everyone forgets the camera is even there – a grandmother laughing at her miscalling her grandchildren’s names, or siblings roasting each other over hilarious childhood mistakes.

I started photographing in 2018, and over eight years and hundreds of sessions, one thing became clear to me: for international families, overseas Vietnamese visiting Vietnam, and expat families who call Vietnam a second home, a photoshoot isn’t really about the photos. It’s about having someone who can hold the whole experience for you – the planning, the language, the logistics, the nerves – so all you have to do is be together.

That belief is the reason Anda Photo exists.

What I believe

A few things I hold onto in every session, whether it’s a family of four or a three-generation reunion:

Families deserve to enjoy the experience, not perform for it. If you feel awkward and have to “say cheese” on my command, I haven’t done my job yet.

Grandparents matter, and they get tired. Every plan I make accounts for pace, safety, and rest, not just beautiful light and background.

Children should feel free. I’d rather chase a laughing kid across a beach than a posed one.

Emotional memory is more valuable than perfect posture. In ten years, you won’t remember how straight anyone stood. You’ll remember how it felt to be together.

Why Families Trust Me

For a family traveling to a foreign country, trust isn’t built on a portfolio. It’s built on the small things that make you feel safe.

With parents, I ensure they’re comfortable and capture their love in their own way. With kids, I build trust before I lift the camera. With grandparents, I keep things easy and unhurried. That’s not a technique I learned; it’s just how I was raised to treat people.

From 6-month-olds to great-grandparents, from a family of three to 20-person reunions, from Asian to Western families, I have worked with them and learnt how to communicate with and guide them through their photoshoot efficiently.

I’m a native Vietnamese speaker who taught myself English (my partner of eight years is a native speaker, so I’ve had plenty of practice). As a local, I can also step in wherever language or logistics get tricky – vendors, drivers, venues – so a language barrier never becomes your problem to solve.

You’ll get a straightforward booking process, a clear agreement, transparent payment, and an invoice you can keep track of. Traveling already asks a lot of you. Booking a photographer shouldn’t be one more thing to worry about.

Every image is saved twice in-camera the moment it’s taken, then backed up again to my computer, external drives, and the cloud. These are moments you can’t recreate – I treat them that way.

MY PROMISE

I photograph a limited number of families each month, on purpose!

That’s not a scarcity tactic. It’s because I’m personally involved in every session I take on, from the first message to the final gallery.

I plan it, I shoot it, and I edit it before sending it off to you. Each image you receive is intentionally curated by me based on what it felt like to be in that moment.

If you’re trusting me with preserving your family memory that exists only on this trip – “the present moment” of your grandparents, kids, siblings, and cousins, at this age, in this place – I want to be a part of your experience.
